Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during my first visit?

For all appointments you will receive a one-on-one individualized JFB-MFR session in a quiet, private treatment room. All information you share will be strictly confidential.

Please allow up to 1 ½ hours to 2 hours for your first full appointment. During your first appointment a medical history will be taken. This is to rule out any possible contra-indications. A discussion to find out what your primary goal is for seeking treatment along with a postural analysis. Followed by a full bodywork session.

Follow up Sessions are one hour in length. Because this is your time, any time throughout your session, if any thing makes you feel uncomfortable, say so, and you will be listened to.

What to wear/bring?

This is a whole body hands-on approach applied directly to the skin without the use of oils or lotions. Please bathe the day of your session. Please do not apply lotions/creams/oils as this makes it difficult to maintain good traction. For you to receive the full effectiveness of this approach, skin contact must be able to be maintained. The skin needs to be accessible as much as possible during the treatment session.

For male clients it is suggested wearing loose fitting gym shorts.

For female clients it is suggested either a two-piece bathing suit or loose fitting gym shorts and a top that will unclasp in the back (such as a bra) be worn.

Clinical gowns are not worn for either male or female clients as the gowns do not provide adequate coverage.

Blankets are available during a session.

What is the cost of your service?

Your First Full Session includes Medical History, Postural Analysis, a full one hour session receiving the JFB-MFR Approach for your body's needs, is $120.00. Completing with sharing 1-2 self treatment techniques geared towards your healing. After that individual Sessions are $100.00. For our Senior Citizens, after completing your First Full Session, individual Sessions are $90.00. Special discounted packages are available should you decide you want to continue deeper into your healing. (See Services Offered page for more detail)

What forms of payment are accepted?

Checks, Cash, MasterCard, VISA and AMEX are accepted forms of payment for all services. Payment is due at time of service. There is a $35 service charge for all checked returned for Insufficient Funds.

Do I need a doctor's referral to see you?

In New Jersey, no, not at this time. However recently passed state legislation states when a client comes in with a physician note due to pain, restriction of motion, etc. a tax is not added because the client is coming in for a medical reason. Without a physician’s note the current NJ sales tax of 7% must be applied.

Do you participate with insurance plans?

Payment is due at time of sevice. It is the client's responsibility to contact their insurance company for possible reimbursment.

How many appointments will I need?

It is impossible to estimate how long a person will need treatment. Especially if the reason for receiving treatment has had a long time to build up fascial restrictions hence more complex, chronic and more severe conditions will require greater frequency and increased length of treatment. The closer together the sessions are, the more rapid the intended results are possible to achieve, as this facilitates healthier patterns to develop. In some cases 1 session is all that is needed. In others 2-4 times a week for a span of time are the most effective to initiate true authentic healing. Following through with self treatment between appointments, appears to have the most cumulative effect to achieve results. Results of treatments will vary with each individual.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

We all lead busy lives. In order to be able to accommodate as soon as possible, a client’s busy schedule, a 24-hour notification to cancel or reschedule is required. Clients will be charged a 'cancellation fee' equal to their scheduled appointment fee if the 24 hour notification is not made. Payment or arrangement for payment must be made prior to additional appointments being scheduled. If a client is late for their appointment every effort will be made to fulfill the rest of the remaining scheduled time. However the full appointment fee will be expected.

Pain is a highly personal experience. The degree to which it interferes with the quality of a person's life is also highly personal.
